Toyota To Unveil FT-86 Open Concept in Geneva
Posted by: Kenny Chan onJanuary 31st, 2013There has been much speculation after the release of the Toyota GT86 (Scion FR-S for us) for a follow-up convertible model. Today, Toyota announced that they will be bringing a convertible concept version of the Toyota GT86 sports car to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The vehicle will be called the FT-86 Open concept and Toyota says that the car “previews a possible future developmetn of the award-winning GT86 sports coupe”.
Toyota already been testing a prototype version of the car and they’ll be using the concept car in Geneva to gauge public reaction to the idea of a convertible GT86. At this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon the GT86 was extremely popular amongst the tuners and the popularity is mirrored here in North America with hundreds of Scion FR-S littering the SEMA show floor this year.
The sketch looks good, can’t wait pictures of the real thing.
