Toyota All New C-HR Leaked Before Geneva

Toyota once again is setting their sights on the younger consumer market targeting the 18 to 35 year old market segment. Toyota’s soon to be dissolved Scion brand did just that and brought about a huge cult following with certain vehicle models. This time, Toyota will be offering up the C-HR under their own brand to the youth group.

We covered the C-HR when it made its first appearance as a concept vehicle at the Paris Motor Show more than a year and a half ago. With it’s low roof line, aggressive styling and oversized wheel arches housing equally monstrous wheels, the C-HR concept made huge first impression. Sized as a two door at the time, the C-HR looked like the FR-S sport coupe got angry, really really angry. The soon to be production model will be unveiled at the up coming Geneva International Auto Show. Leaked photos show that some of the concept glamor is gone. The C-HR now takes the form of a four door and lost its low roof line, but the overall muscular visual impact and aggressive styling still remains.

With today’s fuel price filling up a tank is no longer a wallet buster. However, the youth market continues to strive for a smaller carbon foot print and the C-HR’s hybrid drivetrain is a great option to satisfy customers. Official details on performance has not yet been released by Toyota, but expect fuel consumption numbers to be similar to the Prius at 4.4L/100km, or 64 mpg.

Production will begin in early 2017 at Toyota’s plant in Turkey which means initial delivery will be Europe bound. Expect to see the C-HR in Canadian showrooms around summer of next year. Click through to check out the gallery of the C-HR.
