The Stunning Mercedes-Benz Concept S-Class Coupe

Posted by: Shelton Kwan onSeptember 12th, 2013

The new S-Class has been making waves lately with its futuristic self-driving technology, unrivaled comfort, redefining the definition of a luxurious automobile. Mercedes-Benz takes it one step forward by lopping off 2 doors, and creating this beautiful Concept S-Class Coupe, which we will see, albeit in less flashy production trim, on showroom floors next year. For now, we can feast our eyes on the concept version unveiled in Frankfurt at the 2013 IAA.

The S-Coupe features full-LED headlamps with eyebrows as DRLs, 21-inch wheels shod with 265/35R21 fronts and 295/35R21 rears, and packed with the 455hp motor from the S550 Sedan. My favorite feature from the S Coupe is Magic Body Control (also featured on the S-Class Sedan), where cameras monitor road surfaces and adjusts the suspension in advance to compensate for variances. You can drive over a speed bump at 50km/h and not feel a thing. Awesome.

We will be looking forward to driving the production model when it debuts, and hopefully not too much is lost as the concept evolves over the next year.
