With most auto makers focusing on Christmas-based promotion we couldn’t pass up sharing this little gem brought to us by the Ford Canada blog squad. With the amount of press Ford has been receiving, they could stand to draw some attention to the 2013 Escape, and what better way to do that than a …

For the third time in less than a year 2013 Ford Escapes have been recalled due to engine fires. In a possible attempt to steal customers from Italian manufacturers Ford has managed to include new and innovative ways of setting their vehicles ablaze.
The newest recall, affecting ~90,000 Escapes and Fusions with the 1.6L Ecoboost engine, is caused by engines overheating and leaking fluids onto the exhaust. Though similar to the previous recalls of a loose coolant cap and weak gas line also causing hot fluids to spew violently, the newest recall is distinct and, as of yet, has no fix. Ford has recommended all 2013 Escape and Fusion owners park their cars (preferably away from oily rags and flint collections) and phone their dealer to arrange for a loaner car until a solution can be found.
No word yet on whether the rear hatch open sensor recognizes a flaming foot.

We couldn’t do this comparison test a year ago. No, not because the CX-5 is a new nameplate and all-new vehicle for the Mazda brand (okay, that’s technically a valid reason), but because until now, Mazda’s only small crossover offering was the Tribute …
A ping-pong ball has a volume of about 32 ml (2 cubic inches) and a 2013 Ford Escape holds nearly 60,000. Why is this important? Ford uses the balls to measure vehicle interior capacity for both its own cars and competitors’. Of course, there are traditional measuring tools that you’d expect …
Ford has great plans for the 2013 Escape, but serving as a NASCAR pace vehicle at Kentucky Speedway is not something we expected to find on the list. It makes sense, really. The Escape is built at the Louisville Assembly Plant, where the pace vehicle was unveiled on May 15 by two-time Daytona …
When we drove the all-new Escape recently, Ford was still awaiting official EPA certification for fuel economy. Now, though, the numbers are in, and the Blue Oval can confidently state that it offers the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the small crossover segment… with an automatic …
San Francisco’s MUNI subway system was shut down yesterday when a man traveled 800 metres into an underground railway tunnel in a Ford SUV.
Apparently the man entered the tunnel at around 6 am and just kept right on driving until he got stuck on a set of maintenance stairs in the tunnel.

Perhaps it’s the bright lights of the Los Angeles convention center, or maybe it’s just the skilled work of photographer Drew Phillips, but whatever the reason, the 2013 Ford Escape simply looks better here at the LA Auto Show. Our initial impressions of the more traditional CUV shape weren’t …
Ford will officially debut the next-generation Escape at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month, but ahead of the crossover’s official debut, we’re getting our first look at one of the vehicle’s new features: a hands-free power liftgate. How does it work? Simply kick your foot under the …
