Mini Club of Calgary Celebrates MINI’s 50th

I stumbled upon this video today of the Mini Club of Calgary as they celebrated the 50th anniversary of MINI by using 92 Minis to recreate the MINI logo. I thought it was pretty cool to see and now I’m wondering whos up for creating the Beyond.ca logo? :) Check it out:

As car makers around the world scramble to reduce weight off their new cars and race to develop the latest fuel saving technologies, Mini has gone to the extreme. They figure the best way to save fuel is to leave the engine out of their latest Mini Clubman. This latest model will use no fuel at all, but for some reason it will still sport a chrome fuel filler door.

What you see pictured above is actually a part of Mini’s marketing campaign in Beijing. The body was shipped from Germany to Hong Kong where it was fabricated into a pedi-cab (they call it a rickshaw). The company is hoping that this hybrid pedi-cab will garner some attention for the Mini Clubman launch in China.

The work is said to be top-notch, with a moon roof, leather seats and gold dragons. No word on what the rickMini weighs, but the guy pedaling the one in the pic might’ve given Samuel Sanchez a run for the gold.

I guess there is no better place to do this style of marketing, than at the Olympic Games.
