BlackBerry Bold: The First Crackberry with 3G
The all new BlackBerry Bold from Canada’s Research In Motion will launch on August 21 here in Canada on the Rogers network. The Bold is the latest addition to the BlackBerry line-up, and the first to pack 3G.

BlackBerry Bold Launch on Rogers on August 21
While the phone is not a direct competitor to Apple’s iPhone many people have already made comparisons between the two. The Bold, like the iPhone will also have built in GPS and WiFi. The most obvious difference is the smaller screen on the Bold (but its the same resolution as the iPhone) and the addition of the all familiar keyboard on the Bold.
The rumored launch price of the Bold varies somewhere between $300 and $400 but some leaked pictures suggest it will retail for $399 with a 3-year contract. I am almost positive that Rogers will also launch this phone with a 3-year contract like it did with the iPhone. With new wireless providers set to come on board in Canada in the next year or two, the company is doing everything it can to lock in as many subscribers as possible. 3-year contracts on two of the hottest devices this year will certainly help!
The BlackBerry Bold launch is certainly not as hyped up as the iPhone launch was in Canada but if BlackBerry Bold thread on the forums is any indication, the demand is certainly there!
