Scion Introduces Latest Concept, Scion iM

We’ve seen the pictures that Scion released a few days ago but today they officially unveiled the new Scion iM concept at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The iM concept is a five-door compact hatchback aimed at the younger crowd who are looking a sporty yet affordable hatchback. The concept car is painted in what Scion calls “Incrediblue” paint, accented with matte silver and gunmetal pieces. Of course, since it is a concept, it is slammed on adjustable coilovers with large 19″ forged alloy wheels with nary a wheel gap.

“The tastes of today’s younger buyers have evolved. They want a car that provides excitement and individuality, as well as the comfort, technology and reliability that Scion offers,” said Scion Vice President Doug Murtha. “The iM Concept combines sleek styling with the versatility of a modern hatchback to catch the eye of Scion customers. Stay tuned for more on how we will bring this vision to the road.”

From the front, the Scion iM concept reminds me of another entry-level sporty hatchback, the Mazda3 hatchback. Out back however with its funky rear diffuser, the iM offers a more unique design. Come production however, that rear end will likely be tamed back down. What do you think about the Scion iM concept?

Scion will be revealing the production early next year at the 2015 New York Auto Show where they will also be unveiling another new Scion model. We know there will be a total of 3 new Scion models over the next 3 years so until then, check out the gallery after the break for a ton more pics!
