Mercedes-Benz offers Siri Eyes Free in latest E-Class

Introduced in the forbidden for North America A-Class, Mercedes-Benz is debuting the Siri Eyes Free button in the upcoming facelifted 2014 E-Class for the North American market. Chevrolet was first to announce that Siri Eyes Free would be introduced in their line-up starting with the Chevy Spark and Sonic. Coupled with the Digital Drive Style App, the Siri Eyes Free button allows drivers to interact with many interactive features all without having to take eyes off the road.

Some of the key features include full navigation support, iPod search and browse, web radio, and car finder to help you remember where you parked. Some of the more interesting social media functionality includes reading of your Facebook news feed, twitter timelines, retweets, and Glympse functionality to let your friends know where you are. There is some posting functionality, such as posting your current location and speed on your Facebook wall, but I’m not sure if that’s a great idea, especially if you’re speeding.

The redesigned 2014 E-Class will hit showroom floors in late summer 2013 but we’ll be able to get a preview of it next week in Detroit at the 2013 North American International Auto Show.
