Meet Lincoln’s New Flagship, The 2017 Lincoln Continental

Posted by: Kenny Chan onJanuary 12th, 2016

When Lincoln rolled out the Continental Concept in New York last year, it was one of my favorite vehicles. While it was a concept at the time, Mark Fields, Ford President and CEO said that the production version will follow “next year” and true to his words, here it is.

Looks wise, not much has changed from the concept. The chrome bits on the lower front and rear fascia and side skirts have been removed, and the door handles and side mirrors have been enlarged. The headlights are the same, and the signature lincoln grille is still there. One subtle change are the redesigned front air intakes and foglight housing. All-in-all the production Lincoln Continental looks pretty much 99% like the concept version.

The 3.0L EcoBoost designed for the Continental still doesn’t have any confirmed numbers but it is projected to be in the 400 horsepower, 400 lb-ft torque range. Inside, the Continental is all about luxury and confort. The front seats are 30-way adjustable seats, dubbed Perfect Position, that can be heated, cooled and even includes a massage option. Yeah, take your 8 or 10-way adjustable seats and go back to Economy seating. This is not even business class, this is private jet style comfort.

The Lincoln flagship will be available at dealers this fall. We’ve got a lot more photos of the 2017 Lincoln Continental below.
