The Porsche 911 fighting Jaguar F-Type SVR made its North American debut today. With a 25 horsepower bump compared to the previous range topping F-Type R, which boosts power output to 567 horsepower, the F-Type SVR can turn out a 3.5 second 0-60 time and continue accelerating up to 200mph. This is the first vehicle that Jaguar Land Rover’s Specialty Vehicle Operations department has churned out and they made quite a few changes.

Many of the changes are all weight and drag reduction related including an active rear wing has been added to reduce lift and recesses at high speed to reduce drag to help reach top speed. Underneath the F-Type SVR features a flat floor to reduce drag. The wheels are wider, yet lighter and the brakes can now be replaced with a set of carbon ceramic brakes to shave off even more weight and offer better performance for track junkies. Other modifications to the F-Type include a revised front end with enlarged air openings to feed the revised cooling system.

The Jaguar F-Type SVR will be available in both coupe and convertible models, but the F-Type SVR will cost a pretty penny over the F-Type R. The Coupe starts at $142,000 in Canada, a $23,500 premium over the R. The convertible F-Type SVR will run you $145,000 compared to the convertible F-Type R which starts at $121,500.
