Honda and Acura Booth Tour – SEMA 2012

Posted by: Kenny Chan onNovember 8th, 2012

The Honda booth featured a couple of Accords built by Bisimoto Engineering (Coupe) and DSO Eyewear/MAD Industries (Sedan). The Bisimoto Accord is putting putting out over 400hp with the help of a Nitrous Express (NX) wet shot chemical supercharger system. The Sedan was all show and no go rocking the factory 185hp motor.

Acura has been absent from SEMA for quite a few years but they returned for 2012 to show off the ILX. The ILX however isn’t the one you’ll find when you walk into your local Acura dealership. This ILX Endurance Racer will be taking part in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill endurance race. What you see on the hood is a pair of LED light bars.

On the Honda Racing (Honda Performance Development/HPD) side of the booth was a supercharged CR-Z. Putting out about 185hp and 169 ft/lb of torque, many believe that’s how the CR-Z should have come from Honda. For now however, Honda says it is just exploring the possibilities of the hybrid wonder.

The HPD display also showcased a HPD ARX-03a ALMS P1 Championship Race Car and a Honda powered DW12 Indianapolis 500 Winning Indy car replica.

If you watched the movie Avengers, you’ll recognize this Acura Supercar Concept. It’s a concept of the soon to be updated Acura NSX which is supposed to hit the streets in 2015. If you want one, you should get in line…behind Jerry Sein…wait, I mean Jay Leno but get ready to pony up the big bucks because the info placard indicates the MSRP is over $9M! ;)

If you missed it be sure to check out our Lexus, Kia and Hyundai SEMA booth tours as well.
