GM calls 1,200 back to work in Oshawa

General Motors’ plans to add shifts to its Oshawa operations means all laid-off CAW workers in that city will be back on the job by the end of the year, Chris Buckley, president of CAW Local 222, said Wednesday.
In fact, the automaker may have to hire between 200 and 300 additional employees for the production boost, said Buckley.
