Ford Plans to Design Plant of the Future in Michigan

The Motor City holds a dear place for the blue oval company and Ford plans to stick to it’s loyal roots in Dearborn, Michigan by starting a 10 year construction plan which will deliver a state of the art corporate campus.

Ford CEO Mark Fields says, “Bringing our teams together in an open, collaborative environment will make our employees’ lives better. As we transition to an auto and a mobility company, we’re investing in our people and the tools they use to deliver our vision. Bringing our teams together in an open, collaborative environment will make our employees’ lives better, speed decision-making and deliver results for both our core and emerging businesses.”

Construction of the new corporate campus is Ford making a statement that they are committed to staying in Dearborn for a long time to come. Currently, Ford’s campus is made up of 70 buildings which looks like they are stuck in a time capsule and it houses more than 30,000 employees. The new campus design will incorporate open workspaces for employees, and have eBikes and shuttles and automous driving vehicles that will transport employees around the 7.5 million square feet campus.
