This is a long awaited moment for all performance Ford fans in North America. Avid motorsport fans know that the RS badging on a Ford roots itself in decades of motorsport history. Growing up in the 80’s, the Ford Sierra RS Cosworth reigned supreme. Unfortunately, Ford only created these hot hatches for the European market. Over the years, the Sierra RS Cosworth and a handful of Escort Cosworths made its way onto American soil. But for the first time ever, Ford will officially be bringing the RS badge to North American in their new Focus.

The RS Focus will utilize a 2.3L four-cylinder turbo motor that churns out 350 hp and power will be delivered to all four wheels with brake-based torque vectoring which will send up to 70 percent of the torque to the rear axle. This drivetrain combination is expected to propel the RS Focus to 100kph in 4.7 seconds.

The Focus RS should be arriving in North America by spring 2016.
