Art Student Makes Car Vanish
May 4th, 2009
Many people will say its a photoshop job at first, but Sara Watson, a student at the University of Central Lancashire spent many hours painting a car so it would “vanish” by blending into its surroundings. In fact, it took her about three weeks to complete the disappearing act.
Ms Watson, a second year student, said: “I was experimenting with the whole concept of illusion but needed something a bit more physical to make a real impact.”
This reminds me of the parking lot illusion I posted about last year. I wish I could see these things in person, would probably be quite the sight. I do wonder how funny the car would look from a different angle though.

Wow this girl is very clever, I love how she has made the car just “disappear”, what a clever technique, it really looks as though it has just gone.
OK, that’s just impressive!
That’s excellent. I like to think I have good artistic skills, but that’s beyond anything I could fathom.
Talented girl!
I bet they never did THAT on Pimp My Ride!
Haha, looks like the Predator’s about to run her over
hmm interesting
yea first thing i thought of was that parking lot thing too
i guess you’d have the same result when you look from a different angle, it’d look… weird haha

Really amazing! She must have got her colour matches done at totem, not Home Depot. BAHAHAHA
