2015 Ford Mustang Arrives in Detroit for NAIASPosted by: Kenny Chan onJanuary 13th, 2014
News of the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 may have overshadowed the new sixth generation Mustang but Ford did bring a coupe and convertible 2015 Mustang for its car show debut. The new Mustang has a wider, more aggressive stance and the updated design brings a more modern look to the Mustang for its 50th anniversary. However, I don’t think it works. I thought the new design would look better in person but the updated look in my opinion doesn’t do the Mustang heritage any justice, perhaps it will grow on me.
Under the hood are three engine choices: a new 5.0L V8 that delivers 420 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, a 2.3L EcoBoost the yields an impressive 305 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque and the standard 3.7L V6 that pumps out 300 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. April 17, 2014, marks the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the original Ford Mustang and each 2015 model celebrates the milestone with a badge on the instrument panel that includes the galloping pony logo and the words “Mustang – Since 1964.”
