Audi has stepped up the game with the all new 3rd generation Audi TT and TTS Roadsters, shown here at the Paris Motor Show. The new TT and TTS features a brand new interior that focuses on accessibility for the driver. The MMI interface is controlled by a rotary push button wheel, along with a touchpad on top of the wheel much like the new Mercedes-Benz setup.

The biggest change is what Audi calls the virtual cockpit. The instrument cluster is now completely digital with a 12.3 inch display. Several modes are available on the screen, from the classic mode with a tachometer and a rev display, to a race mode which focuses on the rev counter as a primary instrumentation, exclusive to the TTS. A new natural language voice control system ensures the driver is focused on driving, and not fiddling with controls.

The exterior gets reworked significantly, starting with the Singleframe grill with the four rings nestled on the hood, a design cue lifted from the Audi R8. Optional LED and Matrix LED headlights aims the headbeam along with steering input. Tail lights gets the LED treatment as well, and the rear of the car is finished off with a diffuser which incorporates the tailpipes, and an active spoiler that raises at 120km/h to provide greater rear downforce at speed.

Powering the TT is a 230hp TFSI 2.0L motor, while the TTS gets 310hp, a significant boost from its predecessor. Both engines are mated to either a traditional 6 speed manual, or the awesome 6 speed dual clutch S Tronic gearbox. An all new Quattro AWD system, first seen in the S3, improves on the last generation system and offers a more dynamic (less understeer) driving experience. Audi magnetic ride comes standard on the TTS Roadster, while TT buyers can spec that out as an option.
